Alumni History

The earliest records we have of the “new” Kenmore High School* Alumni Association are from 1948.  A Christmas Dance was held at Kleinhans Music Hall to raise funds for scholarships.  Tickets were $2.50 each and 499 were sold.  In 2000, the Kenmore West Alumni Association held a 60th Jubilee and 1800 tickets were sold for the all-day event.  However the purpose of our Association remains the same – to keep alumni in touch with one another and to raise funds for scholarships for our upcoming graduates.

To help our Association attain its goals, please remember the Scholarship Foundation.  Please remember, as well, that funds are necessary to keep the Alumni office going (supplies, telephone, etc.), the newsletter distributed (paper, printing, postage), and the website (domain name, server space) by sending in your $10 Spirit Booster Donation.

*At the time, Kenmore East hadn’t yet been built.

I graduated in 1969. I’ve moved a few times and wanted to make sure that someone had my current address, especially if there is a reunion planned for next year. My address is 47 Deering St Apt 6, Portland, ME 04101. Thanks!

Is the old website still operating which lists only 4 members from 1945? Haven’t been able to get it on line. Are you still publishing the Ken-West Spirit? Altho I didn’t send in $10.00 this year, you usually used to send it any way. My address is still 3109 Cullen Lake Shore Drive. Belle Isle, FL 32812

So very happy to hear that one of my staff members, Richard Gaynor, has been selected to your school athletic hall of fame. Dick was a great coach and teacher while working at Santiago High School in Garden Grove California.
